Suriname’s only recycling center<\/h2>\n

Glenn mainly recycles PET bottles<\/strong>, about 10% of what is produced in the country, a remarkable effort given the absence of any large-scale recycling structure. A bold initiative to collect waste in Suriname<\/h3>\n

To facilitate the collection of recyclable waste<\/strong>, Glenn has installed 140 sorting garbage cans<\/strong> throughout the country. It’s a bold initiative in a country where the population is still largely unaware of waste management issues. Glenn encounters many challenges, such as the inappropriate deposit of non-recyclable waste, including dead animals, in the sorting garbage cans.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”34409″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” qode_css_animation=”” el_class=”pt1″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Littering, a real scourge for ecosystems and safety<\/h2>\n

The stopover also highlighted the problem of littering<\/strong>, which is widespread in Suriname.
