    Join the #SailingForOceans team

    What is #SailingForOceans?

An offshore racing team like no other

The idea? To bring everyone who uses the sea together in a single team, on a public-interest mission that has become a race against time: stopping the destruction of humanity’s marine sanctuaries. Launched by Plastic Odyssey for the start of the Route du Rhum 2026, the team unites offshore racing skippers and sea lovers of every kind, with or without a boat.

    The #SailingForOceans skippers

Five skippers, usually rivals, have joined forces

Three of the team’s boats will be on the start line on November 1 at 1:02 p.m.: Tom Laperche’s Ultim SVR-Lazartigue, Jules Bonnier’s Class40 Plastic Odyssey, and We Explore, Roland Jourdain’s Vintage Multi, helmed by François Guiffant. Erwan Le Roux isn’t racing this time but remains part of the team, alongside Adrien Simon (Figaro). They’re still 995 crew members short.

    Plastic Odyssey’s new ship

    First missions in 2029

Meet Plastic Odyssey’s future ship, dedicated to restoring marine sanctuaries: a 60-meter, wind-powered vessel serving the common good, built to reach the planet’s most precious and remote places and repair the damage caused by plastic pollution.

    The #SailingForOceans boats

Boats that couldn’t be more different, from a racing Ultim to a family around-the-world sailboat and expedition vessels… This time, they’re flying the same colors. Three of them are racing in Plastic Odyssey colors during the Route du Rhum 2026.

    Come aboard

Two ways to join the team: take on the challenge aboard the Plastic Odyssey during the race village, or join the crew online in two minutes. It’s free, there’s no commitment, and seasickness is welcome.

An extraordinary team, a slightly crazy bet. Are you on board?
