The Plastic Odyssey Laboratory Vessel France Tour

After three years traveling around the world aboard the laboratory vessel, Plastic Odyssey will make a stopover in France for a major citizen-focused tour. Objectives: to share the discoveries from three years of exploration around the world, to document local initiatives in each stopover city, and to continue building, together, a plastic-free future.

The France Tour Program

Vessel Tour & Zero Plastic Village

Discover everyday solutions

The Plastic Odyssey vessel opens its doors to the public. Visitors can discover recycling machines, low-tech innovations, and the solutions developed by the crew to live without relying on plastic. On the quay, the Zero Plastic Village showcases simple, accessible solutions: reusable items, bulk stores, deposit-return systems… It is a space to learn, exchange, and leave with practical ideas ready to put into action.

The Fresco of solutions

Understanding the causes, connecting the solutions

The Fresco of solutions invites both children and adults to reflect collectively. By handling cards and real-life examples, participants gain a clear understanding of where plastic pollution originates and how to take action at every stage. It is a moment of dialogue, creativity, and shared reflection.

Exhibition – Exploration Station

Dive into the heart of research and action

The exhibition immerses visitors in the life of the expedition. You can explore maps of the areas most affected by plastic pollution, discover objects brought back from stopovers, and listen to stories from the crew. You see how life on board works with very little, how things are repaired, sorted, and recycled, and how each stopover reveals new local solutions. It is a lively, accessible exhibition that shows how everyone can take action at their own scale by drawing inspiration from life on board.

Local Solutions Showcase

Highlighting those who are already taking action

Each stopover shines a spotlight on committed local associations, entrepreneurs, and public authorities. Their stands tell real stories from the field: reuse businesses, alternative solution inventors, education projects, or clean-up initiatives. These encounters spark the desire to act, showing that the transition is already underway, everywhere.

Screenings & Talks – Evening Gatherings

Share, get inspired, connect

At sunset, it is time for the evening gatherings: film screenings, discussions, and testimonials from explorers, scientists, and citizens. These simple, friendly moments create connections, encourage the sharing of what works, and send participants home with renewed energy.

Sports Clean-Ups

Move to clean up

Running, walking, paddling, or diving: sports clean-ups combine physical effort with meaningful action. These collective initiatives are open to everyone, from casual athletes to coastal explorers. The goal is to mobilize together and witness, in the field, the positive impact of a simple gesture.

Call for Donations – Sponsor a Solution

Becoming a “Shoreline Guardian” means contributing directly to the implementation of the solutions discovered along the way. A donation can fund an educational workshop, a waste removal operation, or zero-waste training. Every contribution, even a modest one, helps move the mission forward and leaves a lasting mark in the collective logbook.

Join the adventure

At every stage, we raise awareness, recycle, and restore. We show that taking action—even on a small scale—can make an immediate difference. The challenge is immense (if nothing changes, there could be more plastic than fish in the ocean by 2050), but every action counts.

Together, let’s tip the world toward solutions.
