A unique solitary race
The VendĂ©e Globe, the “Everest of the Seas”, a unique solitary race, is an extraordinary challenge that makes us all dream at Plastic Odyssey.
The event offers worldwide visibility, and many skippers are committed to a noble cause. L’Occitane en Provence, the sponsor of Armel TRIPON and Main Partner of Plastic Odyssey, has chosen to share this adventure with us, to carry a message in favor of the protection of the Ocean.
Test of Armel TRIPON’s ship
Armel TRIPON invited the team to try out his ship. Simon, Bob, and Alexandre took part in the Azimut challenge between Lorient and the island of Groix. An incredible experience that they will not forget.
This magnificent ship will carry a symbol of the project, the Plastic Odyssey flag, during its race. Armel TRIPON, for his part, is personally committed as an ambassador of the cause, and it is with great joy that we now count him as one of the proud ambassadors of the adventure.
A symbolic challenge
77 days separate the start of the VendĂ©e Globe (November 8th, 2020) and the departure of the Plastic Odyssey expedition (January 24th, 2021). The VendĂ©e Globe record is 73 days, and Armel TRIPON and the L’Occitane en Provence intend to get close to it. The meeting point is therefore given on the docks of Marseille after the return of the race, and hopefully, a few days of rest for Armel, to then participate in the departure of the Plastic Odyssey!
