Menstrual Cups to Replace Disposable Feminine Hygiene Products
Women generate more than 30 tons of non-recyclable sanitary waste during their reproductive lives. n fact, menstrual products are highly polluting due to their disposable nature and the predominance of plastic in their composition, in addition to the health risks they pose. This is why menstrual cups are emerging as a sustainable solution, thanks to their lifespan, which varies from 5 to 10 years. In Costa Rica, Ciclica is the first company in Central America to produce menstrual cups, marking an important step forward for women’s health, feminine hygiene and the reduction of menstrual waste.
