A machine that makes drinking water and replaces 900 plastic bottles a month
On board the Plastic Odyssey, the crew use a machine to filter any water and make it drinkable. The machine filters out viruses, bacteria and even heavy metals. This means that the vessel’s inhabitants don’t have to bother with plastic bottles, and can drink without risking their health. The Inovaya machine (as it is called) has made it possible to avoid buying 10,000 plastic bottles since the start of the expedition, and thus to make real savings.
