Strong coconut fiber ropes

In French Polynesia, Benoît has found an alternative to the plastic ropes used on pearl farms and in agriculture. Ropes are made from coconut fiber, a material found in abundance in the Pacific islands. The fibers are shredded, agglomerated and braided. The strands are then braided a second time for added strength.
