Bowls and glasses made of totumo
In the Colombian community of Pontezuela, a cooperative of craft producers works with totumo, a fruit that can be used to make all kinds of objects thanks to its particular shapes. In the past, every Colombian family had its own tree in the garden, which allowed them to make everything they needed. Today, several people are rediscovering this precious ancestral know-how, motivated by the preservation of the environment. In addition to its artisanal applications, totumo has curative and medicinal properties.
